Where’s that Health Insurance Card?

When you buy International Student Health Insurance, along with a docket full of documents you also get a Health Insurance card. The card is supposed to be carried with you at all times. Many students forget this important aspect.

If it is a planned visit to the doctor, you will obviously remember to carry the card with you to process a claim. However, in case you are in an emergency and need to be rushed to a hospital, your health insurance card kept securely in a folder at home is not going to be of much use. Medical authorities will most probably look into your wallet to ascertain your identity. They would expect to find your health insurance card there too, so that a claim can be filed easily.

Carrying the International Student Health Insurance card in your wallet is almost as important as actually buying the insurance. It helps in hassle-free filing of claims, and will help you avoid rushing home to get it if needed.

If at any point you lose your wallet, please call the insurer to get another card immediately. Getting it replaced is as important as getting replacements of your credit cards or driving license.
